“Family” Fun Night

One of the most awesome things I was blessed with in life is a cool Mom that was always down to have fun. My childhood was filled with memories of fun times and laughter. One of my most favorite memories is when my Mom decided she would be the chaperone for my friends my sister and I to outings that we all looked forward to! Although we aren’t related to our friends, my Mom insisted we call it Family Fun Night. Piling up in our family van was one of the things what made it so special. Ahhh nostalgia. Those times were ages ago but the good feelings and memories are still so vivid in my mind. I would say I have inherited that same fun spirit and always try to make the most of the time spent with loved ones. Below I have created a few games that can make any get together a blast and get the competitive energy going. (Did I mention I’m competitive when need be) So without further ado, let the games begin!

RULES:

Teams consist of 2 (or more) players that individually gain points and is added with team player. ex: Greg 5 points Candice 7 points. Team Total = 12 points

**Each player is responsible for keeping their score**

GAMES:

Toss the Bottle (3 rounds)

Each player will get 3 tries to toss a half full water bottle (16.8oz size my suggestion) into a basket, or bowl/pot. The distance each player must stand is 6 feet away ( this can be measured by taking 6 steps away from target and making a mark on the floor with tape).

Each player starts with 10 points. Every made basket = +3 points Every missed basket = -3.

Players with the most points at the end WINS!!

Tie breaker : 10 steps back, each player with tie will toss once until a missed basket

Write a rhyme

Teams will have a topic they will have to write a story off the top of their heads. The more lines you and your teammate can create together the more points you will gain. Each line is 1 point. ex: Jared & Kavon – Topic Balloons

J- The balloons are red & blue

K- The balloons are blown up too.

J- The balloons are so pretty.

K- The balloons are in the city.

**Tie breaker: Each player will add a line to the continuous story. First player to get stumped is eliminated. Opposing team wins.**

The Guessing Game

**This particular game needs a little prep work. Have a big box or bin filled with miscellaneous items that can be worn by players. **

Before the evening is underway each player will grab 3 items out of the grab bag and wear them for the first hour of the evening. Players will be then asked to return items one by one into the grab bag and write down on a post it note what items they were wearing. When game time begins, each team will have to guess who was wearing what earlier in the evening. Each player that answers correctly get 2 points. Each incorrect guess loses 1 point.

Team with the most points at the end of the game, WINS!

I hope you enjoy these games create wonderful memories and have fun in your own Family Fun Night(or Day).
